At Global Games, we believe in taking responsibility for the impact of our events on the environment. That’s why we’ve set a bold goal of running zero-waste events by 2025, and we’re proud to say that we’re well on our way to
achieving this goal.

But we’re not stopping there. We want to share our innovative approach to waste reduction with the world, and we hope that other major events will join us in this mission.

A zero-waste event means that we carefully consider every product used on-site, and where those products end up post-event. By 2025, all packaging and products used at our events will need to be compostable or avoided altogether. We work with vendors to ensure they bring non-disposable plates, cups, and cutlery, and we encourage teams to monitor their own waste and take it all home with them.

Our ambitious approach has inspired us to design events that generate far less waste every year, with the right kind of waste for re-use. We’re also committed to educating clubs and teams about waste production and disposal, raising environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices.

We’re proud to say that there are no bins at our events - only a recycling and waste tent where we separate clean recycling such as tin, paper, cardboard, compost, from landfill. This innovative approach has received high praise from many stakeholders, and we hope that more events around the country will follow our lead in creating a more sustainable future.
